The Tree Walk in Gillespie Park was a great success with over 30 people attending on a lovely Sunday afternoon. The trees were at their best looking green and fresh. The wildflowers were glorious and amongst the birds could be heard a chiffchaff newly arrived from Africia. The empashis of the walk was not just to identify trees but to learn how to identify them from their leaves, bark and general habit. After the walk people enjoyed tea and home made cakes in the Sunday Cafe and waffles with chocolate and cream where sold in aid of the people of Nepal.
For those who missed out on the walk now is the best time visit this gem of a park.
